THE JOCKEY CLUBS NEW MEMBERS. New York. September 11. Of the two hew-members enrolled on the roster of the Jockey Club Thursday. Captain E. B. Cassatt. U. S. A., of Philadelphia, has an inherited right to be a member of the Joekej- Club. His distinguished father, the late Alexander Johnstone Cassatt, was one of the original members :of that organization. Captain Cassatt is actively interested in racing: As everyone knows, he owns -Medallion. Choirmaster of Chester-brook and half a dozen other race,- horses and he is breeding thoroughbreds at Chesterbrook, Farm in -Pennsylvania. The Ayrshire stallion. Aeronaut, a good sprinter in his day, is at the head of. Captain Cassatts stud, and he owns thirteen or fourteen highly-bred mares. Captain Cassatt will entertain bis friends with a day of private racing at Chester-brook Farm later in the month. Carroll Browiu the othAr addition to the Jockey Club membership, belongs to a well-known Baltimore family. He is the husband of one of the daughters of the late Slarcus Daly, founder of Bitter Root Stud, in Montana. Mr. Daly imported more first-class British thoroughbred stock to this country during the last ten years of his life than did any American breeder, barring James R. Keene.
