■ STILL VICTORIOUS ROAMER LEADS ALL THE WAT TINDER BIG WEIGHT AND WINS THE NATIONAL HANDICAP. Laurel, Md., October 30.— Andrew Millers great racer Roamer added the National Handicap to the long list of notable victories he has scored, when he won laurels closing days feature. Roamer picked tip 132 pounds, made all the pace and beat August Belmonts Stromholi. the runner up, by three lengths. Considering that the track was not at its-best. Roamers performance was a splendid one. the fractional time of the race being 23, 47--., 1:11%. 1:38%. 1:50. The mile handicap for all ages went to Cock o the Walk, which beat Eagle by a neck, and the mile allowance race for two-year-olds was won by Jefferson Livingstons English-bred colt Colonel Vennie. The latter beat the Butler crack Spur, wearing him down in the stretch and won going away. A tremendous gathering was present, the crowd being a record one for the meeting. Charlie Ellisim was an arrival from Latonin. He will remain in Maryland until the conclusion of the Bowie meeting. William II. Collins, of Berkeley, fal.. was another arrival. A couple of carloads of horses arrived at Pimlico this morning from Latonia. In the consignment were the horses owned by Edward Trotter! J. J. Timmerman, W. R. Sallee and two of W. Gersts in charge of II. Roscher. A. B. Dade, who will do the starting at Pimlico and Bowie, arrived this afternoon and one of hi* assistants. William Snyder, came in from Missouri. The first of the big mutuel machines to be usel at Bowie this fall has been completed and delivered at the course. It is the idea of Mortimer Mahoney and is expected to prove a big improve mem over the old method. Capt. P. M. Walker has secured from S. W. Snel-son the fashionably -bred mare Moisant. by Hamburg -— Ascension. She was shipped yesterday t his Page Brook Farm at Boyce, Va., where she will be mated to some good sire. In the same car also went the good mare Isidora. now in foal to Captain Walkers Armeath II. stallion. Bard of Hope. .Moisant and Isidora were both stake winners. Besides these two Captain Walker has at Di.-s farm Inferno Queen, a frequent winner, by Star Shoot — Homebody: Fanchette. by Alvescot — Latifa. and Lady Frances, by Rappallo—Graziosa. The stallion His Majesty and five broodmares belonging to G. A. Cochran have been shipped from Virginia to Mr. Cochrans place at Mt. Kisco, N. Y., where he has established a stock farm. Monday the scene of racing will shift to the famous old Pimlico course of the Maryland Jockey flub in the outskirts of Baltimore. The outlook "is for one of the best meetings in the long history of the course. It will run for eleven days, closing November 12.
