SOME OWNERS IN HARD LUCK RELIEVED. Montreal. Que.. October :!0. — A welcome surprise was given twenty or more stranded horsemen at the Mount Royal track, when the directors of the Rack River Jockey Club visited tin- course to arrange for payment of teed bills and other indebtedness of owners, who were unable to leave until tliee liabilities were cleared up. V number of the straud«d horsemen hold checks from the Dorval Jockey Club for amounts won by IlK-ni at the meeting at iw.rval Park in Sepieinlier and which have not yet lieen honored by the bank. The management of the Dorval Jot-key Club has not vet made any arrangements with the horsemen for the lifting of these checks and the Rack River T«M-kev Club came to their assistance. The feed bills were guaranteed, while other expenses were liaid and monev furnished for shipments. Some of these horwmen will go from here to Juarez and others to New Orleans, where they will race during the coming winter.
