LATE BREEDING FARM NEWS LEXINGTON, Ky., October 27. Hanly Ragan of Mt. Sterling has had the misfortune to lose two weanling fillies by Luke McLuke. The one from Lady Vandergrift died about ten days ago and the one from Miss Georgie died this morning of intestinal trouble. Ragan bought the mares last spring from John N. Markey, brother-in-law of J. O. and G. H. Keene, and the weanlings were foaled at one of Ragans farms in Montgomery County. Johnny Miller came in last night from New York with a carload of thoroughbreds. Among them was the stallion Golden Guinea, property of W. B. Miller. Golden Guinea went to Beaumont Stud, where he is to stand for service. W. R. Coe sent Cleopatra to Phil T. Chinn, who is expecting the stallion Polymelian and a dozen mares from Coes Hoodoo Ranch at Cody, Wyo. There were two fillies, owned by Major August Belmont, sent back to the Nursery Stud for breeding purposes. The others were English yearlings and mares that came over recently for A. B. Hancock, Hal Price Head-ley and others. Miller returned to New York last night to bring back another load. William King arrived this afternoon from Philadelphia with a carload of thoroughbred mares belonging to George D. Widener to be located at Hinata Farm.
