Bradleys freak bets made during the Winter on the Kentucky Derby include several that Martingale and Better Luck will not be starters next Saturday. If they go to the post he will book a loss of 5,000. He also laid that Bud Lierner, Zev, Dunlin and Goshawk would not go to the post. He has also wagered nearly 0,000 that the race would be run in 2 :05 or better. Preston Burch, trainer of General Thatcher, arrived this morning in advance of his three year old representative and supervised his unloading. Mr. Burch commenting on the Preakness race said that in his opinion General Thatcher was best in the race and that he lost because of his lack of a strong rider. "My horse weighs 1100 pounds", said Mr. Burch, "and requires a strong rider. Had Sallys Alley not been started my colt would have had the benefit of A. Johnson and I was disappointed when at the last minute Mr. Kilmer decided on sending his | filly to the post General Thatcher lost con- siderable ground in the race and that had a bearing on the result." ยป
