: , | | i j ; : ] i SHERIDAN CLARK IS DEAD Weil-Known Racing Official Passes Away Following Operation at Montreal. MONTREAL, Que., May 14.— Sheridan Clark, a well-known figure in American racing circles, died here early Sunday morning following an operation. He was suddenly stricken while at his duties Friday at the Maisonneuve track, rushed to the general hospital and operated upon there early Saturday morning. Mrs. Clark, summoned from Havestraw, N. Y.. when it was found that there was scant hope for his recovery, was with him when he died. Sheridan Clark had officiated in many capacities at race meetings all over the continent and was rated one of the most effcient racing secretaries. He had been a prominent figure in Canadian racing for ten years, acting annually in the capacity of presidng judge and racing secretary at the meetings of the Dorval and Connaught Park clubs of the Canadian Pacing Associations. He accepted a similar position this spring with the Quebec Breeders and Racing Association, but had not completed his lirst week of work when stricken. He was the presiding judge at the first meeting of the Devonshire Iark track at Windsor, Ont. The body will be taken to New York for burial. ♦
