The latter raced in closest pursuit and went wide in the stretch, but finished resolutely. TROOPER raevd prominently, but was a distant third. CROMWELL closed an immense gap in the last half. JAMES B. BROWN also came from far back and was ridden wide. FAR EAST closed a gap and tired in the stretch. CHERRY TREK was hack in the first quarter and closed a big gap in the stretch. TREASURER raced well. ROCKY MOUNTAIN tired in the stretch. LADY ASTOR ran poorly. KREMLIN was close tip for the entire race, but finished tiring. HLEN also tired in the stretch after closing a gap. FLYING PRINCE ran poorly. SIMIIJCTON set the pace to the far turn and quit.
