CUDGELS GET DOING WELL Youngsters in Ross Stable Winning Their Way Yearlings Shipped to Kentucky. MONTREAL, Que., Sept. 18. During the first three days of the Blue Bonnets meeting the J. K. L. Ross Stable sent four horses to the post and three of them were returned winners. All three were by the Broomstick stallion Cudgel, whose get, by the way, are showing up well this fall. During the spring all the Cudgel youngster in the Ross stable were taken sick and trainer McDaniel had but little hope of saving all but one or two of them. Under the circumstances they had to be thrown out of training and only just now showing their merit The Ross Stable has decided to send Ultimata, a sister to Stimulus, which finished second in the Futurity, to the court of Cudgel next spring. The Star Shoot mare Muttikins has been sent to Vercheres, Quebec, where she will be bred to the stallion Fitz AVilliam. All of the yearlings at Vercheres were shipped to Kentucky yesterday to join the band that are at Harry Morriseys farm. The lot will be concentrated at Churchill Downs, where they will be broken and tried out this fall.
