THORNCLIFFES GOOD SPORT Ideal Weather Contributing Factor in Bringing Out Big Crowd Feature to Miss Domino. THORNCLIFFE RACE TRACK, TORONTO, Ont, Sept 18. Ideal weather conditions again prevailed for Thursdays racing at Thorncliffo Park and it contributed largely in bringing out another good crowd. The racing was of a fcrmful nature and large fields paraded to the post in the majority of the contests. The fourth brought together a band of sprinters in a dash of three-quarters, with the Kenton Stables Viola Burton the public choice. However, the best she could do was finish in second place, Miss Domino winning by a head, after having led for the entire way. Viola Burton was fractious at the post and was away slowly and had to work her way through the field, but she came through an opening in the stretch, and just failed to get up.. The winner was away flying and had opened up a good lead in the backstretch, with Royal Dick following at the stretch turn. Miss Domino had shaken off Royal Dick when Viola Burton loomed up and Liebgold was forced to go to the whip to have her home winner by a head. The fifth race furnished a big upset when J. W. Pangles Woodlake was returned the winner at a mile and a sixteenth. Woodlake was far back in the early stages, but saved ground. He slipped through on the inside and again at the stretch turn he came through when the leaders swung wide and wore down the pacemaker to win by an open length frcm the Missouri Stables Mercutio. The latter, also far back in the early stages, had to come to the outside in the stretch and finisheel fastest of all. Kellerman saved the third portion of the purse when he outlasted the tiring Quotation.
