TRAINER AL HAMEL IS SICK NEW YORK, N. Y., April 17. — During the illness of trainer Al Hamel. the horses which will be raced for Polk Laffoon in the East have been in charge of Howard Oots at Belmont Park. Hamel was taken ill on his arrival here last week, but is now convalescent and shortly will return to his duties.
