Land arrived from Louisville with Joan of Kent, a two-year-old filly by Granite— Margaret Kent that he will race in the colors of Mrs. W. Showalter of Lexington. Jockey Eddie Martin, who sustained a fracturtd foot when kicked by a horse before the start of the sixth race Tuesday, was removed from his home to St. Elizabeths Hospital in Covington Wednesday morning. Jockey R. Yelton departs Thursday night for Aurora where he will ride for the stable of J. S. Ownbey. Martin Xathanson. of the Coney Island Jockey Club, is doing some active missionary-work among the Latonia horsemen in behalf of the new track near Cincinnati that will race for fifty-eight days following the close of the Latonia meeting.
