AUSPICIOUS COMEBACK Jockey Lykes First Mount Since Reinstatement Victorious Anna Marrone II and Sanola First Firstand and Second in Marilyn Miller MillerHandicap Handicap at Aurora AURORA III May 17 Anna Marrone II ridden by jockey Lawrence Lyke and racing in good form accounted for the Marilyn Miller Handicap fifth and feature attrac ¬ tion on the program offered by the Exposi ¬ tion Park Jockey Club at Aurora today Sanola piloted by jockey C E Allen fin ¬ ished right in the wake of the winner and closely lapped on her for second place while Brilliant took third place Anna Marrone II and Sanola were coupled carrying the colors of the Sanola Stock Farm and added first and second money to the coffers of that establishment establishmentAfter After an absence of nearly three years from the saddle jockey Lawrence Lyke for ¬ merly connected with the Idle Hour Stock Farm and one of Americas premier riders had his first mount since being reinstated a few days ago by the Kentucky State Rac ¬ ing Commission and the stewards at Exposi ¬ tion Park promptly granted him a license and Lykes first engagement came when he was astride the winner of the Marilyn Miller Handicap HandicapThe The Sanola Stock Farm entry ruled an overwhelming choice in the race and marked the fourth favorite in succession to score After the success of the outsider Wildrake in the initial race favorites scampered home winners in each of the four following races making for a profitable afternoon for the followers of form formA A fast track prevailed and with Ideal weather again the rule another good crowd was on hand handIIUEY IIUEY SCORES SCORESH H C McConnells Huey racing in im ¬ proved form and well ridden by jockey Elston turned up winner of the sixth race and defeated Mighty Lucy Kate and six others of a good field at a mile and seventy yards Huey was prominent in the last half of the journey and finishing gamely had the better of a hard final drive with Mighty outfinishing the latter in the final strides Mighty raced in second place for the entire trip and held that place safe at the end Lucy Ivate was the favored one but was away none too well at the start and the best sho could do was to wind up in third place Silent King dominated the early run ¬ ning with a good display of speed leading to midway of the stretch where the gelding tired and finished unplaced unplacedShowing Showing a sudden and vastly Improved form N B Tevis Wildrake managed to de ¬ feat Colonel Schooler Martha Roos and the nine other starters which made up the con ¬ test in the opener at threequarters Wild ¬ rake ridden by the hustling and vigorous riding apprentice V Peterson rushed into the lead approaching the lower turn while Martha Roos was right in his wake and forcing a good pace Colonel Schooler fol ¬ lowed them closely in third position The three were in the van of the others the en ¬ tire way and no change in their order of running occurred until the stretch was reached where Colonel Schooler finishing strongly passed Martha Roos and began wearing Wildrake down rapidly in the last eighth However the ultimate winner was kept in advance slightly and lasted to gain a good advantage over Colonel Schooler at the end Martha Roos held on well in the final stages and easily saved third thirdSHASTA SHASTA LOVE REPEATS REPEATSC C Irbys Shasta Love racing in her best form made it two victories in a row for herself when she was returned the winner of the second race at threequarters Little Guinea one of the field horses raced to sec ¬ ond place while third fell to Up and Down Elizabeth Seth was the early leader but after setting the pace for the first half mile sho then retired and finished out of the money Up and Down was in the lead briefly in the stretch but succumbed to the challenge of Shasta Love hear the end Little Guinea after racing far out of it in the first half finished with a rush and closed an immense gap in the last quarter downing Up and Down for second place in the final few yards yardsThe The twoyearold Bill Seth which races for E E Major was in a soft spot in the third race fashioned for youngsters at four and onehalf furlongs The race was practically made for him and he scored in liollow fa ¬ shion over Vowed Vengeance Miss Drapeau and five others It was Bill Seths fourth straight victory at ths course this spring springWhen When
