Thursdays card at the Homewood course I is not like that of the opening day but nevertheless it is a fine program which has been arranged for an offday There is no outstanding feature race down for decision fbut in most of the numbers the fields are evenly matched and some fine sport should result resultSprinters Sprinters come into their own more or less for five of the seven races are under a mile while the fifth is at one mile out of the chute and the final number is at a mile and a quarter quarterThe The going is just a shade under fast but it should improve immensely with racing Indications are for continued good weather and unless rain falls some fast time should be the order by the latter part of the week weekNINETEEN NINETEEN SIXTY JIM BRIDGES FAIR LARK LARKTwoyearold Twoyearold maidens meet in the first race of the afternoon over the fiveeighths distance NINETEEN SIXTY raced against some of the good ones over the Churchill Downs course and in some of his races gave promise of going on He should find this a favorable spot to win JIM BRIDGER raced well enough in his only start at Aurora to earn the place money behind Indra and that same effort repeated here should find him landing close to the winner FAIR LARK appears to be the best of the others othersBED BED PENNANT OMNIA COLONEL SCHOOLER SCHOOLERRED RED PENNANTS last start at Churchill Downs was such an improvement over pre ¬ vious races that he must be given the preference in the second a threequarters dash This son of Pennant is a fast trick when right and his last race had every indi ¬ cation of his nearing winning form OMNIA does not call for much on recent races but has been working well of late and may do better today COLONEL SCHOOLER should be good enough to hold the others safe for the short end of the purse purseBEARING BEARING EIGHTEEN SIXTY MADAM EMELIE EMELIEWhat What appears to be the best play on the card is spotted in the third number another twoyearold affair This trick is BEAR ¬ ING from the stable of Wm Garth and winner of his only start That was over the Pimlico track and the way he finished was such to suggest that he may be a better colt than rated EIGHTEEN SIXTY figures next best he having been graduated from the nonwinners ranks his last start at Lexington MADAM EMELIE is more or less consistent and should be able to hold third place safe INDRA prefers a muddy track BLUE ROSE has been racing fairly well HATSUP DOLLY BAY IDLE THOUGHTS The fourth Is at threequarters and here HATS UP is given the call He was en ¬ tered on opening day but was scratched and this may be an easier spot for him to add another win to his credit The com ¬ pany is not quite as classy as those he was entered with on Wednesday DOLLY BAY was gradually getting into her best form at the Aurora meeting and should be the one to give HATS UP the most trouble here IDLE THOUGHTS has not been out since the Tijuana meeting but has been working well and only has to race back to his trials to earn some part of the purse TOM P is possibly the best of the others othersMAY MAY STEIL PEGGY O SCAMPAWAY SCAMPAWAYThe The R E Clark filly MAY STEIL should prove best in the mile of the fifth if her last start at Lexington is a true indication of her present condition She met some fast ones on that occasion and though beaten put up a mighty good effort and would need to improve but a little over that start to score here PEGGY O turned in one fair race at Aurora and taking a line through that effort appears to be the con ¬ tender SCAMPAWAY If in a running mood could make it interesting for the others THE WIRE may be a little out ¬ classed classedWILDRAKE WILDRAKE WHATS THE TIME OUTLAWED OUTLAWEDWILDRAKE WILDRAKE showed he is In his best form by winning his last start at Aurora in game fashion If he were to repeat that effort today believe he could account for the sixth another dash of threequarters of a mile WHATS THE TIME was also winner of his last start at the Fox River oval but WILD ¬ RAKE appears to be possessed of a little more class and should prove it here OUT ¬ LAWED may be good enough to take down third money JOE JUNIOR was more or less consistent at Aurora and may cause seme trouble troubleBOLIVAR BOLIVAR BOND BOSH MAGIC LIGHT LIGHTA A fair band of selling platers hook up in the concluding number with BOLIVAR BOND favored to win He has not started in a race since the Jefferson Park meeting but his training moves of late have all been good and he only has to race in his best style here to be the one to lead the others home BOSH seems to be on the improve and may be the contender She packs but ninetyeight pounds today MAGIC LIGHT may show enough improvement to get third money SAGAMOOK is about due for a winning race
