t LAT0N1A TURF NOTES t : $ LATONIA, Ky., June 21. The stable of Li. V. Bellew will he transferred to Raceland the latter part of next week. It was understood here today that J. C. lCIlis, owner of Dade Park, will arrive here tomorrow to be on hand to renuest dates for a September meeting at his track at the meeting of the Kentucky State Ilacing Commission, which will be held at the Latonia clubhouse Saturday at noon. Jockey L. Canfield was forced to cancel the mount on Iady Orilene in the final race due to an injury to an eye received when hit by a flying clod in the third race. J.- AV. Parrisha Rolled Stocking, a candidate for the Latonia Derby, after the final race Tuesday, worked one mile and one-quarter in 2 :0"t5 very handily. AV. Crump rode him in the trial. Acocrding to - advices from Washington Park this afternoon, E. P. Cooneys Dolan, which finished fourth in the American Derby last Saturday, left the Homewood course yesterday for Latonia, to fill his engagement I in the Latonia Derby. Al Smitha, represented by Valence, claimed Resolute out of the third race from Mrs. H. Chambers for ,000. Col. E. Tt. Bradley, accompanied by Thomas Dennison of Omaha, arrived from Idle Hour Farm, where Col. Bradley and a party of friends spent the past week. Buddy Bauer, considered the most formidable of the Idle Hour Farm Stables candidates for the Latonia Derby, this morning galloped three-eighths in :36 handily, as preparation for a more pretentious trial tomorrow morning. Trainer H. J. Thompson believes Buddy Bauer has found his finest form and will figure prominently in tho Derby renewal. Clem Theisen and Joe Thomas have formed a partnership in the ownership of tho broodmares Alluring. Cobalt Lass, Rep Pep, Chloo V., Lake Erie and Frances H all of which are at Yowell Place Farm, near Louisville. Frances H. is the only one that has foaled this year, having a colt by Sobiesky. Tho other mares are in foal to Mr. Theisens stallion San Vicente. C. W. Primrose, who presided at the recent meeting at Tulsa, Okla,, arrived at Latonia today for a brief visit. . The three-year-olds Woodlore and Duelist, owned by R, S. Clark and, which have been turned out at A. B. Hancocks Claiborne. Stud, have been put back in training by-trainer A. Baker. Both colts wero ill earlier in the year. Jockey W. Pool resumed riding this aft- crnoon, following his return from Fairmount Park.-- - - ..... ;
