Start fair and slow. Won easily: second and third driving. MINTWIKI began slowly from an outer position, but raced fast and, heading CROSS PLAY in the first half mile, won easing up. CROSS PLAY fiad slightly the best of the start and. under hard riding, showed the most early speed, but began tiring in the last eighth. VOWED ABNGEANOE raced well for the entire way. HELEN E. closed a gap after making a tangled beginning. EIGHTEEN SIXTY came from far back in the last quarter. BLUE BLOOD raced well. FOREHEAD, close up from the start and lucky, saved much ground on the stretch tnrn and, coming fast through the stretch, passed LIEUTENANT SETn in the last sixteenth. LIEUTENANT SETH raced well in the going and rushed into a good lead at once, but swerved out through the stretch under a weak ride, costing him much ground. TRANSFER came with a rush through the last eighth. FIFTEEN SIXTY raced fairly well. BETTY BALL dropped back after going the first quarter and came again near the end. WINNIE STUART quit badly. BANTER, probably "best, was going fast in the last eighth when he was suddenly taken bark, then came with a rush when ridden hard and would have won in another stride. ALI BABA moved up fast in the last quarter. WILD NOTES set the early pace, but began tiring as soon as the stretch was reached. The latter raced closest up for the entire race and swerved repeatedly, but finished well. GEORGE DE MAR had no mishaps and was outrun all the way. ARABIAN began tiring when reaching the stretch. SAMARON w;as allowed to drop far back in the first quarter, but, coming with a rush on the last tnrn and saving much ground there, passed SCOOP with ease in the last eighth and won easing up. SCOOP showed fine speed in pacemaking for three-quarters, but was easily ontf inislinl by the winner. CHINK raced close up .and finished gamely without attempting to race wide, as he did in the previous races, and outstayed ROCKY LANE. The latter began tiring in the last eighth.
