« LONGCHAMPS MEETING ENDS SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. PARIS, France, May 2S. — The Longchamps spring meeting ended yesterday with ideal conditions prevailing and an enormous crowd in attendance. The Prix Lupin, of 2,100 meters, was the chief attraction and no little importance attached to it, as several Epsom Derby eligibles and possible starters competing. The winner turned up in Edouard Rothschilds Bubbles, a son of La Farina — Spring Cleaning, ridden by C. Bouillon. It was an excellent contest. Martinez Hoz Ivanhoe, piloted by Guy Garner, was second. Ogden Mills Kantar, under Esling, was third. There were eleven starters. It was the first defeat suffered by Kantar. The winner of four starts as a juvenile, he was rated the best juvenile in France last year. The American sportsmen Joseph E. Widen, t, A. K. Macomber ana Ralph Beaver Stras-sburger did not have representatives in the Eongchamps Stake yesterday. George D. Widener, who was among the many Americans present, went to England last night. He will sail on the Leviathan June 5.
