ARLINGTON PARK NOTES 4 — — — $ The Arlington Park thoroughbred colony received a number of important additions Monday morning when the Valley Lake Stable, in charge of J. B. Partridge, and the Wild Rose Stable, in charge of Val Crane, got in from Louisville, where they had been racing. The horses arrived without accident and are now comfortably quartered at Arlington Park. Conspicuous among the Valley Lake Stables horses was Billy Culbertson, which is the stables entry for the American Derby. Mr. Parti idge, his owner and trainer, reports the colt to be in excellent condition and, barring accidents, will be a sure starter in the Derby. Jockey W. Bowdcn, who has been riding in excellent form, accompanied the stable here. The Wild Rose Farm Stable comprised eight horses, including the imported Char-marten, which was kicked while at the post in his Kentucky Derby engagement. The colts condition is improving, and owner Crane believes he may be able to race at Arlington. George De Mar, which has been racing successfully this spring, was another one of the stables horses. Jockeys .Timmie Butwell and B. Hodgson, under contract to owner Crane, arrived with the horses. A number of prominent stables now racing at Churchill Downs will not wait until the termination of that meeting before shipping to Arlington Park. These include the establishments of J. N. Camden, Bloomfield Stable, John Oliver Keene. Mrs. J. D. Hertz and Stuyvesant Peabcdy. All of these will be shipped Thursday. Bert Williams, trainer of the Bloomfield Stable, is bringing eighteen horses, including Blackwood and Dowagac, both eligible for the American Derby. Jockeys F. Chiavetta and P. Herbert will come at the same time. O. J. Lehmanns American Derby eligible, Reigh Olga, will be in the Hertz shipment. Earle Sande may ride Reigh Olga.
