REMARKABLE SPORTSMAN During the. World War F. W. Wise lost a h-g, an arm and was more or less badly maimed. However, the loss did not take away any of his pluck, as at the last Pundtestown meetin. in Ireland he rode and trained his own horse Ardfinnan, which won the Prince of Wales Plate, a three-mile steeplechase, the first day of the meeting and, on the second day, in the Conyngham Cup, was second en his own horse, Alike, to Lady Helen McCalmonts Ruby III. — Kildare.
