PREPARE FOR DERBY DAY Many Special Trains to Arlington Park Next Saturday — Thirty - Five -Minute Journey. ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., June 5.— In anticipation of a record-breaking crowd next Saturday at Arlington Park on the occasion of the running of the American Derby, Frank J. Bruen, general manager of the American Xational Jockey Club, completed arrangements today in regard to rail transportation. At the end of a conference with Harry Par-rish, trainmaster of the Northwestern, Mr. Bruen announced that twenty special race trains would leave at intervals of ten minutes after 11 a. m., from the Chicago terminal. Each train will have ten cars. The running schedule will be thirty-five minutes direct to the track. In addition there will be seven local trains, the first leaving Chicago at 7 :15 a. m. The last race track special will leave Chicago for Arlington Park at 1 :15 p. m. Trainmaster Parrish also conferred with H. D. Brown, builder of Arlington Fark and vice-president of the Arlington National Jockey Club, in reference to Saturday and the daily schedule as well. Mr. Browns desire is to make it nearly perfect. The management of the American National Jockey Club expressed gratification over the success of the inaugural of the season despite adverse weather conditions. H. D. Brown said the enthusiasm of the public indicated Chicagoans are in accord with his plan to make Arlington Park one of the greatest racing grounds in the country. Frank J. Bruen, general manager, said the club house and box seat reservations for the American Derby next Saturday guaranteed an enormous attendance. He said every box would be disposed of. It is his prophesy that more than 50,000 persons will witness the race. P. Taplin lias arrived with six horses, the property of Alexander Pantages, from Fair-mount Iark. *■ A .
