FORMS NEW ORGANIZATION John J. Brady Head of Horsemens Transportation Association — To Take Care of Horse Shipments. XEW YORK. X. Y.. June 5.— John R. Brady, Jr., who has already done so much in bettering conditions in the transportation of the thoroughbreds, as well as arranging special passenger service to race courses, has established a new association to carry on his work in the East. This is known as the Horsemens Transportation Association, and that really means Mr. Brady himself. The duties he will perform will be to take care of the arranging of shipments of thoroughbreds to and from race courses, as well as anywhere else there may be a desire to make a shipment. He will also be able to take care of the wants of the horsemen, whether it be by rail, express or freight, by boat or by van. There will be no charge to the horsemen for the service thus afforded and, with headquarters in the Lehrer Building at Belmont, Mr. Brady will also have a desk at every race course where the racing is going on to take care of his business. At present, most of his efforts will be confined to Xew York, Maryland and Xew Orleans, but he will be ready and fully equipped to take care of such busines to and from other points. Largely through the efforts of Mr. Brady, Joseph E. Widener was enabled to have the Pennsylvania Railroad put on a special from Washington to Belmont Park this spring. This service will be continued in the fall. It was also Mr. Brady that arranged the Saturday specials to Saratoga Springs for the racing there. That service will be continued this year with trains leaving each Saturday at 9 :35 a. m., daylight saving time, to arrive at Saratoga Springs at 2 p. m. The train this year will make but one stop, at 125th street. Still another convenience that has been added to the racing service during the Saratoga meeting, is the assigning of a Saratoga sleeper on the 9:30 p. m. train each night. This sleeper will be cut out at Saratoga Springs, permitting parsengers to remain on it until breakfast time. Arrangement has also been made for a sleeper from Saratoga Springs, which will be available for passengers at 10 oclock at night. These are some of the accomplishments ot the Horsemens Transportation Association already and. taking a line on the past performances of Mr. Brady, there will be various other things done for the comfort and convenience of both the horsemen and the patrons of racing. All of this has been made possible by the various racing associations that are carrying the expenses that are incurred in the operation of this most important service.
