HUNTERS RACE AT AQUEDUCT NEW YORK, N. Y., June 5. — For the opening day at Aqueduct, the Queens County Jockey Club course, an extra race will be put on for hunters. This will be a steeplechase, the entries for which will close at Belmont Park, June 9. The conditions are : The Hempstead Plains, Hunters Steeplechase. For hunters duly registered by the hunts committee of the National Steeplechase nnd Hunt Association. Purse, ,000, of which 00 to the second and 00 to the third. Weights : Pive-year-olds to carry 163 pounds ; s:x-yenr-olds and upward, 168 pounds. Winners of ,000 or more than three races in 1927-2S to carry three pounds additional. Winners of ,500 or five races in 1927-28, to carry five pounds additional. Non-winners of 00 in 1927 or 1928 allowed five pounds. Maidens allowed seven pounds. To be ridden by gentlemen riders. Distance, about two and a half miles.
