FACET was saved back of the leaders for the first mile, then worked his way up gradually, saved round at all of the jumps and raced into an easy lead after taking the final jump. EVEN CHANCE raced close up for a turn of the field, then moved up after taking the thirteenth jump and passed SPECIAL ACCOUNT, but was unable to reach the winner. SPECIAL ACCOUNT raced into a long lead and was taken under restraint, but tired fast when called on. PRIMED was always far back BOMBINO meed poorly. FATHBALLAH was going well when he fell at the fourteenth jump. RED INDIAN was pulled up after taking the ninth jump and ENDLESS refused at the sixth. PANUCO sprinted into a long lead when coming into the back stretch, saved ground all the way and was never in clanger. GRIER OF SPAIN, in closest pursuit throughout, closed gamely and outstayed WILLIAM T. The latter suffered from interference at the first turn, then came to the outside when entering the home stretch and was gaining rapidly at the end. BEAU OF THE WEST finished gamely. BEST BONNET, rated in nearest pursuit of the leaders, went into the lead without effort when approaching the far turn, but was steadied thereafter and came away gamely when WILLINGDON made a determined challenge at the final eighth post. The latter, reserved in the early running, moved up resolutely when entering the home stretch and drew close to the winner, but was not good enough. STEPHANUS reared up into the air at the start, recovered quickly and, securing racing room on the inside to reach the leaders, raced TABLE TALK into defeat, saved ground at the stretch turn and was hard urged to withstand MUD. The latter raced close up while on the outside, finished with a rush and was overtaking the winner at the end. EQUATION, a prominent factor, held on well. FAIR ANITA was going well at the end. HANNA DEEBE closed some ground and was worked out an additional quarter mile. TABLE TALK tired after a half mile. MARY McNEIL, placed forwardly, closed with good speed. TRIEZE was kept on the outside of his field all the way. LACTARIlS had no excuses.
