JB BAINBRIDGE PARK MEETING E Everything Ready for Saturdays Opening — Possibility of Interference Discussed. CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 21.— Northern 0 Ohio turf fans are looking forward to the b twenty-five-day race meeting which opens at the new one-mile Bainbridge track east of jj here ■ next Saturday and continues through to ■ June 22. The track is the newest mile course ■ in the country, and following the closing of the M meeting at Northampton, in Summit County, recently, is regarded as northern Ohios most likely racing site. Purses totaling J| 70,000 are offered by the Bainbridge Breeders e and Racing Association, sponsors of the ■ meeting. The lowest purse is 00, and on » June 22, the closing day of the meeting, the fifth running of the Ohio State Derby, ,000 a added, will be run. Already the association has received entries for more horses than can be accommodated a and a number of high class stables are represented. r Last years forty-nine-day meeting r met with public approval and there is every indication that this years will also be successful. *_ The stands will accommodate 3,200 people, v while permanent steps in front will seat 3,000 r more. In all, the park can comfortably accommodate c 8,000 people. Capacity crowds were l present on two days last year. The possibility of interference by Geayuga County officials remains in conjuncture. The * contribution system of betting, a modification of the mutuels, will be in effect. Whether or not this is illegal depends on the interpretation of the law by county officials. Sheriff Ben Hotchkiss, who took office since last years meeting, has refused to make a statement. i He was supported by the Geayuga County Law Enforcement League, an organization . opposed to racing. The prosecutor says he will leave the matter entirely up to the sheriff. •
