MISS LESTER made the pace fast and, racing into a good lead, had to be shaken up in the stretch to hold ROBINA SETH safe, but held sway to the finish. BONNIE MARGUERITE raced forwardly oa the inside, saved much ground and finished close up. ROBINA SETH. a forward contender throughout, moved up alongside of the leader in the last eighth, but tired and bled. SECRECY closed up much ground from a slow beginning. ETHEL SHERLOCK improved her position gradually while racing on the outside and, reaching the leaders in the stretch, passed FALLEN LEAF into a good lead and won going away. STURDY STELLA, also on the outside, dropped back on the far turn, but came again gamely in the final eighth, outfinish-ing the others. ATOI raced close up on the inside, forced a good pace and held on well. FALLEN LEAF displayed the most early speed, but tired. SUPERFRANK raced well to the stretch, then weakened in the final drive. THE COACH raced into the lead on the inside while rounding the far turn and, holding HATTIH SETH safe to the stretch, drew away to win decisively. HATTIE SETn raced closely lapped on the outside of the leader to the last eighth while forcing the pace, but tired and only outlasted TEXAS LONGHORN by a narrow margin. The latter closed up ground improved his position gradually and finished gamely. MAT MAHONEY also made up much ground. PATSY LEWIS tired as did TITLE OAK after showing early speed. QUEEN TOWTON, greatly improved under strong riding, made a fast pace all the way, held sway to the end and gamely out finished BIG SWEEP. The latter raced forwardly, saved ground all the way, but could not reach the winner until near the finish, but easily outfinished TADDYWAWA. The latter was outpaced for the first three-eighths, but gradually improved her position thereafter, birt had to come wide when entering the stretch and tired. LANE ALLEN had no mishaps and was gaining on the leaders at the end. ANDROMEDA and FORTUNATE GIRL showed early speed. Overweight — Taddywawa, 1 pound. QfJOOer FIFTH RACE— 3-4 Mile. PANAMA showed early speed, but failed to stay with the leader after t lie first quarter, but held OUR JOAX safe. The latter had no mishaps and raced well. TIIISTLH IltlXCESS could never improve her position and lost some ground on the turns. FAUX PAS was always outpaced. The others ran poorly. Scratched— 3.244 Whip Cracker. 114. The latter raced in closest pursuit of LITTLE ASBESTOS, took the lead when the latter quit in the stretch, but could not stall off the winner. SHASTA BELLE had no mishaps and was gaining fast at the end and with a stronger rider might have been closer up. FESTIVAL was outrun throughout. NOSE DIVE raced in close up pursuit of LADDIE BUCK and took the lead when the latter quit, but tired in the final drive. HANDS UP finished fast. EVERGREEN QUEEN raced well for three-quarters.
