Frank Loftus, brother of the former star rider, Johnny Loftus, arrived here from New York and will work among the horsemen in the interests of the Veterinary Products Laboratories of Brooklyn, N. Y. R. T. Watts is considering sending Mrs. E. Dene-marks Blackwood to Fairmount Park to fill his engagement in the Collinsville Handicap at that track Saturday. He is also making preparations to assemble the Dene-mark stable at Washington Park and this probably will be accomplished by next Monday. The horses Roy Slomer is training for Charles W. Bidwill, secretary of the Illinois Turf Association, will be shipped to Washington Park just as soon as Slomer obtains a few additional horses so as to fill a car. George Brooks loaded the horses of Edward OBrien for shipment to Washington Paik this evening. They went from Douglas Park. On Friday T. M. Doyle is shipping the entire Joliet Stable to Omaha, while W. J. Potter is taking his stable to Riverside Park, Kansas City, on Sunday. A. V. Thomas expects to get away Wednesday for Bainbridge Park with his racers. Joe-key J. Judy will accompany the latter, while apprentice J. D. Collins goes with Doyle. Erwin Wiedekamp left last night for Washington Park where he will be in charge of the mutuel department. During his absence from Kentucky, Ernie White will direct like departments here and at Latonia. L. K. Rogers arrived from Lexington with Juel Jean, Fast Ann and Uncle Luther, the property of L. Stivers. C. E. Hamilton, patron of Covington, Ky., returned to his home today. He witnessed a success of his Royal Son on Monday. Mr. Hamilton is convalescing from a recent operation. His Our Own, which was injured while at the post for his last race, continues in a very ailing condition. Robert Shelley, one of the racing officials at Fairmount Park, departed last night for St. Louis to remain until after the close of the thirty-seven-day meeting at the mentioned track. A severely bruised thumb, received when he was unseated by Our Own while at the post Saturday, caused Earl Pool to cancel his mounts this afternoon. The horses of Theodore E. Muellers Shady-brook Farm Stable are schedued to leave Wednesday for Washington Park, and trainer Moody will race them over the Chicago tracks until fall. The stables of C. C. Wright and R. P. Brooks are to leave Wednesday for Fair-mount Park. W. W. Williamson came from Lexington and took over the training of the horses of O. A. Bianchi, who is ill. Mr. Williamson has an interest in several of the horses in the stable.
