May 22.— Stake books for the summer meeting of the Queens County Jockey Club at Aqueduct are being distributed among horsemen at all racing centers. This meeting follows the current one at Belmont Park, opening on June 11 and running to July 4, a period of twenty-one days. Twenty-three fixed events will be renewed with an aggregate added value of 02,000. The stake values range from ,000 for some of the claiming races to 0,000 for the famous Dwyer Stakes, a mile and a half contest for three-year-olds. The Dwyer is the big event of the meeting. A memorial to one of the outstanding figures in Metropolitan turf history a generation and more ago, its fame became far reaching as the most gruelling race Man o War ever ran. Grier hooked up and it was not until the final eighth that Man o War put away his rival after they had raced like a team to that point. Of secondary importance to the Dwyer in regard to value is the Brooklyn Handicap, a contest that has long been a big event in local racing. This has an added value of 2,500 and is for three-year-olds and up at a mile and an eighth.
