JOHNNY CALLAHAN raced forwardly on the outside of the leaders, but stayed in close on the turns, forced the pace and, in a long and hard final drive, wore down and outgamed TOPANGO in the final stride. TOPANGO saved much ground while racing next to the inner rail and. setting the pace gamely, held sway to the final strides, but was outfinished. WOODFACE was a forward factor throughout and. Unishing gamely, bested CHESTERBROOK. CHESTERBROOK raced on the inside and showed a good effert. SHASTA NUN tired in the stretch. GOLD BOOTS acted badly at the post, delaying the start. TIMEKEEPER raced close up to the leaders to the stretch and luckily managed to find an opening on the inside in the final eighth and, finishing strongly, got up to outgame KNIGHTHOOD. The latter raced in closest pursuit of CLEM to the stretch, then took a brief lead when the latter quit, but could not withstand the winner and barely outlasted OUR BUDDY. The latter was outpaced to the stretch, then closed a big gap with a rush and was rapidly overhauling the leaders at the end. CLEM showed the most early speed and set the pace to the last eighth, then quit suddenly. NONDAGA iin-proced his position gradually aud was the best of the others. SILENT LILLIAN tired badlv. LADY PARTRIDGE, racing in her best form, moved into a good lead under a hustling ride and held her advantage all the way. MISS ROSEDALE could never threaten the winner, but held second place safe, out finishing KIT CARSON. The latter came fast on the inside in the final eighth, closed ground and outfinished VOSHELL. VOSHELL had to race on the outside, losing ground, but showed a good effort aud finished gamely. SANDY HATCH was badly outrun from the start. JACK HASKELL had an advantage at the start and. making the pace fast, raced away into a long lead, but was overconfldently ridden during the hist eighth when allowed to loaf and just lasted to win. DEVON was saved under restraint to the stretch, then closed a big gap and. finishing fast, out-gamed THISTLE FYRN. The latter raced on the inside and saved ground throughout, racing DEVONSHIRE into defeat and held on well. DEVONSHIRE ran well to the stretch, where he tired. Scratched— 30324 Taddywawa, 100. The latter raced well to the stretch, but tired. OAKLAND suffered from interference and was practically eliminated when carried wide when there was much crowding and jamming when rounding the first turn. JAPHERN quit after showing early speed. CAPTAIN APPLEJACK dropped back after going the first quarter but, coining again with a rush on the outside in the stretch, gradually wore down TOM BYRNE, outfinisiiing the latter in the final few strides. TOM BYRNE improved his position gradually into tiie lend and entering the stretch withstood a long hard drive gamely, but failed to stave off the winner. CARTOON also dropped far back after the first quarter and came again with a rush in the last sixteenth, almost getting up for second place. REBErK raced forwardly on the inside but begar. tiring in the final drive. ELMER H. tired. RED SPIDER moved into the lead after passing the far turn but was done in the stretch.
