LATONIA STAKES SCHEDULE Dates for Running of Latonia Derby and Other Features at Covington Track. LOUISVILLE. Ky., May 22.— There was a reminder of the close approach of the annual spring and summer meeting at Latonia when books of conditions for the first ten days of that meeting opening June 4, were distributed among the horsemen here today. The meeting will be one of twenty-nine days, closing on July t . Nine rich stakes will be renewed during the meeting and overnight purse values will scale from ,500 down to ,200. A total of 5,000 is added to the nine stakes, chief of which is the 5,000 added Latonia Derby, for three-year-olds, to be run June 22. The stakes will be offered in the following order : Inaugural Handicap, ,000 added, three-year-olds and over, at one mile and a sixteenth, on Tuesday, June 4. I Clipsetta Stakes, ,000 added, for two-year-! old fillies, at five and one-half furlongs, on Saturday, June 8. Quickstep Handicap, ,000 added, for three-year-olds and over, at three-quarters, on Saturday, June 8. Harold Stakes, ,000 added, for two-year-olds, colts and geldings, at five and a half furlongs on Saturday, June 15. Enquirer Handicap, ,000 added, for three-year-olds and over, at one mile and a sixteenth, on Saturday, June 15. Latonia Derby, 5,000 added, for three-year-olds, at one mile and one-half, on Saturday, June 22. Cincinnati Trophy, ,000 added, for two-year-olds, at three-quarter mile, to be run on Saturday, June 29. Independence Handicap, 0,000 added for three-year-olds and over, at one mile and three-sixteenths, on Thursday, July 4. Latonia Oaks, 0,000 added, for three-year- i old fillies, at one mile and a quarter, on Saturday July 6. i The renewal of the Latonia Derby, which . will mark the forty-seventh running of that fixture, is expected to bring out H. G. Gard-; ners Clyde Van Dusen winner of the Kentucky Derby, the Wilshire Stables Naishapur, - which finished second in the same race, E. R. . Bradleys Blue Larkspur, as well as others . that tried for honors in the local fixture and . possibly additional three-year-old cracks not i available for the Downs fixture. I Indications at this time are that there will r be an abundance of high-grade material for - the meeting. Stables going from here to the Covington course, include those of R. S. I Clark, A. B. Hancock, Audley Farm, J. N. . Camden, E. B. McLean, H. P. Headley. Laf-; foon and Yeiser, Park View Stable, Kenton ; Farm Stable, J. W. Parrish, J. B. Respess, t W. H. Whitehouse, S. S. Combs J.
