MARIE S. followed the pace closely throughout, moved up fast when called on, withstood a challenge from MAIN ROCK and drew away. The latter made a determined bid when called upon and finished gamely. NORMA JEAN was a forward contender all the way. TACKLE was not persevered with when he stopped. PAID swerved under pressure. ISLAND CREEK broke from the outside and crossed over sharply, but tired. Start good and slow. Won driving: second and third the same. MANTONIAN jumped well aud followed the early pace closely, moved up with determrnation and stood a long drive gamely to the finish. ENDICOTT began slowly, but improved his position steadily, then came to the outside of the leader in the final half mile and finished resolutely. BOLD KNIGHT, under restraint to the first turn, saved much ground and hung on well at the end. VOLUNTEER showed early speed and had no excuses. CLOSE WORK was tiring when interfered with by LIGHT HOUSE, which fell in front of him at the eleventh fence. ASTRONOMY showed a good effort to the first turn.
