PRANCING, always in nearest pursuit, was kept to pressure, but could not trouble the winner. FLORAZETTA raced gamely after losing some ground. EVERGREEN made up ground slowly during the final stages. BRUCOlRT kept well off the pace for the first two miles, moved np smartly when called on, fenced handily and, withstanding a severe drive the last half mile, wore MALVOISINE down to get np in the last strides. MALVOISINE drew out into a commanding lead, bolted to the outside at the lower turn, the last turn of the field, was straightened away and held on resolutely for the final Issue. GUN BOAT reserved early, gained fast when placed to a drive, landed badly at the final fence and all but unseated his rider. He closed gamely on recovering. RUBIGNY was kept under urging throughout and he weakened for the closing test. JINGLE was outrun. DATURA lost bis rider at the seventeenth fence. Scratched— 362603Huffy, 145. SNOWY broke fast and dear, displayed good speed while saving ground and, holding on with good •ourage, had enough in reserve to stall off BACHELOR SKIPPER. The latter broke sidewavs, moved into contention rapidly, moved to the winner at the final eight! pole, but swerved to the inside in the final auxteenth and finished in behind the winner. WRACKELL hurried along while on the outside, was punished severely and was going stoutly at the end. PLAY BALL, shuffled back early, closed with food speed. DANCE CIRCLE broke well but dropped back at the first turn and, being allowed to settle lnt* her stride, steadily improved her position after leaving the back stretth and, wearing the leaders down, was drawing clear after having taken command in the last sixteenth. KAURI took the lead when entering the back stretch, was rated in front and managed to hang on in the final drive. SILVER WEDDING, a forward factor throughout, showed a good effort, and was the best of the others. SABANA had no excuses. SEA KALE was unable to get to the leaders. MERRY MOUNT had early speed. SUNF1RE, outrun in the early racing, went to the outside when making his challenge, took the lead at the final eighth post and, under mild riding, drew out into a safe lead. SIR HARRY, slow to settle into his stride, moved up fast after going three-quarters and closed gamely. SON O BATTLE, fractious at the barrier, got away fast and, being taken up after leaving the back stretch, shook off BROWN WIZARD, but tired. ROYAL STRANGER was unable to make up ground when released from restraint. DISPLAY acted fractiously at the barrier and was never a factor. BROWN WIZARD quit badly. THE HEATHEN, setting a rapid pace after moving into a good lead, was rated along until reaching the final eighth post, but had to be shaken up when nearing the end to stall off the rush of BRAMABIAU. The latter, far back in the early racing, came on the outside of his field and was gaining fast on the winner. MUD, well placed throughout, made a determined challenge when approaching the stretch turn, but weakened. SONNELLl forced a fast pace until the final eight post, where he began to tire. LACTARIUS hurried into a forward position, raced in hand until reaching the far turn, moved up to the leaders with good speed, took command and under stiff pressure managed to stall off NON STOP. The latter worked his way up on the outside, finished stoutly, and was gaining steadily at the finish. GOLDEN ARROW, forced wide at the first turn and bumped, was allowed to settle into his stride, reached contention, but faltered through the final furlong. REAL ARTIST closed a good gap. SWEETEST SONG had early speed. CHAIRMAN closed full of run after trailing far back.
