» I I 1 HOMEWOODS FEATURE % Nation-Wide Interest in the Washington Park Handicap. % Participation of Golden Prince, Mowlee, Misstep and Others Attract Unusual Attention. ■ Nation-wide interest is certain to be attracted to the Washington Park Handicap, which features the opening of the Homewood course next Monday, because of the participation of horses which have won stakes, this year and last, on tracks all the way irom New York to Tijuana. The three most prominent eligibles are Golden Prince, winner of the Coffroth Handicap ; Mowlee, winner of the Prince Georges Handicap, and Misstep, winner of last years Fairmount Derby, and it is believed that all three will go. Golden Prince resumed his training some time ago, atter being shipped from Tijuana to Washington Park and has gone along well. Mowlee was shipped from New York this week and arrived at Home-wood in splendid condition, it is said. Misstep was to have been shipped from Louisville yesterday. ■ There are others among Mondays probable starters that are very highly regarded, including Windy City, F. M. Grabners colt, which made an admirable showing in the Kentucky Derby last Saturday ; Leucite, another Rancocas racer of quality, and Martie Flynn, winner of the Clark Handicap. The presence of the two Eastern horses, owned by the Rancocas stable ; the winner of the Coffroth Handicap, and the Chicago-owned horses, gives the race a sectional complexion that few races run this year, other than the Kentucky Derby, have had. The horses mentioned constitute the "quality" in the race, but there are others that will attract some attention, among them being E. B. McLeans Silverdale and War Eagle, H. G. and W. H. Goelitz* Gracious Gift, the Northway Stables Indian Love Call and S. Peabodys Flat Iron. The latter may go as an entry with Martie Flynn. It is entirely possible, also, that King Nadi will start in the race, coupled with Golden Prince. King Nadi has been out of competition for about a year, but he has been training well in works with the Coffroth Handicap winner and is ready to start either in this or in a race of less consequence. In addition to the prominent stables mentioned, some others that may be represented are : Wild Rose Farm Stable, with Dowa-giac or Charmarten ; the Shady Brook Farm Stable, with Cayuga ; A. A. Baroni, with Crofton or Riff Raff; Coldstream Stud Stable, with Negodale, Call Play or Eskimo ; C. W. Hay, with Judge Hay; C.H. Knebelkamp, with Little Gyp ; La Brae Stable, with Infinity or Listo ; Morris Vehon, with Princess Edith.
