SETHS JEWEL swung very wide on the last turn but was in the best going and heading the others, lasting to withstand the challenge of HOOTINANY in the final drive. The latter was close up all the way and made a game effort in the stretch, but could not get to the front. LAGUNA disioscd of the others in the last sixteenth. PIIEFEBKED and ELEMENT tired badly. MARGARITA AHEARN seemed to like the going and held en well after setting most of the pace. SON OF MIDWAY was never far from the leaders and finished veil. MARGARET ELNORA tired in the run home. WAR SIOI1T met with interference soon after the ■tart, was rushed into contention on the back 6tretch and. catching the leaders approaching the stretch turn, tired from her early efforts whfn the real racing began. OMARDALE raced in a prominent position from the start and, coming fast in the 6tretcb, passed MERRY WINDSOR and won easily. MERRY WINDSOR showed good early speed and, while not able to withstand the rush of the winner, was best of the others. NIGHT RUN dwelt at the start, closed an Immense gap, but went to the outside fence on the stretch turn and was best. MY BEAUTY tired after ■ctting the pace. BLUNDERBUSS began poorly. THE ORLEANIAN raced with FOREBEC in the back stretch, forged to the front on the last turn and increased his lead gradually in the last eighth to win in handy fashion. FOREBEC had early speed and ran a good race, but cculd not resist the winner. NIX could not keep up with the pacemakers, but was easily best of the others.
