EUPHRATES was rated along under steady restraint, came to the outside of the leaders entering the stretch and drew away in the final sixteenth. NEtiOPOLI, outrun to the far turn, hapmeed his position when calird upon and, finishing fast, outlasted CROYDEN. The latter raced in closest pursuit of the pace from the start, showed good speed and held on well. LONGWORTH, far back to the stretch turn, closed some ground. DANGEROUS tired badly at the end. DOLAN had no ex. uses. JACK BiENER wheeled suddenly a sixteenth after the start and Iwlted into the fence. *y 4~t Q SECOND RACE— About 2S miles. Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third driving. CANTERBURY jumped well, was rated along under steady restraint, held off determined opposition from WARFAIN and had speed in reserve*. WARFAIN raced in closest pursuit of the pace throughout, made several attempts to get to the leaders, but failed. RUBIGNY was rated along under steady restraint, moved up stoutly when called upon and finished well. LE DIGARD was outrun the first two miles, but finished fast. ANNAN raced close up throughout, moved up fast in the final eighth and finished courageously. DAIL finished reso-lur-lv and outstayed NIGnT EXTRA in the final strides. The latter ran well throughout. BOURBON MAID was close up all the way and had no excuses. IHLARIA showed early speed and raced well. BLACK CARSE made tip some ground. RED BAG came with 8 rush. PEACE met with early interfer-" enee. HERODIONESE shewed improvement. BLACK WATCH. FRIAR CLICT and CANDY BLACKBIRD had scant chance at the start. MORDROM quit under pressure.
