The horses making up the division of the •table of Clyde Van Dusen to be campaigned here by Bert Scheffel, are the older Stolen Kisses, Miss Torch, Little Torch and six two-year-olds. R. N. Vestal, for years an annual visitor to I atonia, returned today after an absence of several seasons. He brought the two-year-Olds Miss Pat, Clara Jo and Jim Miller and they will race in his interests. J. Howard Downing brought Golden Chestnut, Lynn Barkley and Daddy Nelson from Lexington, while S. Gratton came in with the five-year-old Sun Lynn. The horses J. L. Brannon is bringing here lrom Fairmount Park are Master. Nellie Ballot, Pauline H. and Saddle Skirts. They race under the colors of Mrs. J. L. Brannon. who has arrived from California, where she ■pent the past six months. Klizabeth, Port o Play and Bud Charlton, owned by Newton H. Johnson, and formerly trained by R. C. Frankes, have been taken over by Al Thomas. C. A. Biedencope reports that he has turned out the veteran campaigner Blue Granite. The gelding will be returned to training next fall. Jeanne Wachs, Lucky Dream, Midsolea and Short Sport, all two-year-olds, made up the division of the stable that Robert Frankes brought from Lexington, where he has a dozen others in training. Jockey Earl Pool, who was taken ill Tuesday morning, continued out of the saddle today, but hoped to resume riding soon. Jockey C. E. Allen had his first mount of the meeting on Storm Signal, G. M. Hendries star in the sixth race. H. P. Headley, Sanford Lyne and J. T. Looney were visitors from Lexington and may remain for several days. Each has horses at Latonia, the Headley stable being one of the largest on the grounds. Copies of the second issue of conditions tor the racing here were distributed among the horsemen this morning. The book covers the period from June 15 to June 21, inclusive. Jockey Earl Pool reported himself mui-h improved after a brief illness and will probably resume riding on Friday. Jockey T. Carter and apprentice Frederick Maier, the latter under contract to J. B. Respess, were granted licenses by the stewards.
