OMAHA PROGRAM ORDINARY Track Still Heavy, But Drying Out — Mint Tody First in Best Race. OMAHA, Neb., June 6. — Although it was a rather ordinary card that was offered for the pleasure of the Ak-Sar-Ben patrons this afternoon, the seven races were not lacking in interest and the large fields that went to the post furnished considerable sport. The track, though drying out, was still in a heavy condition. The weather in the early part of the afternoon was pleasant but the skies clouded and a light rain fell intermittently during the final races. The program was lacking in a feature, all races being of the claiming variety. Seths Jewel carried the silks of the Jones Stock Farm to a victory in the opening race. It was a close finish between the winner and Hootinany, but the Jones filly seemed to have the most class and stuck it out. Laguna, which was disqualified the other day, finished third. Jockey George Woolf rode his first winner of the meeting when he piloted Matt McGoey to victory in the second race. The winner, which was an outsider in the betting, was badly outrun for the first half mile, but then made up much ground and scored easily. Aleto and Hawkeye battled for second place, with the former earning the award.
