SANTA .SOPHIA, outrun in the early stages, saved much ground after reaching the stretch and finished fast in the last sixteenth, drawing out to win well in hand. ALTAVAR, well up from the start, held on gamely in the final drive and just lasted for second place. PORT JAR lacked room at the start and had to go wide, but moved into the lead a sixteenth out and tired in the final strides. ROYAL EQUITY showed good speed before tiring badly in the last sixteenth. EVERLASTING, coming with a rush when straightened out in the stretch, drew past SALONA in the last sixteenth to win with much in reserve. SALONA dwelt at the start and was away poorly, but raced into a good lead, only to tire when seemingly having the race won. DAVID L. was taken back at lata start and again at the lower turn, when racing into a contending position, but came steadily in the stretch aufl finished fast. COASTER had no mishaps.
