WINSLOW IS TRAINING WELL J. N. Camden Derby Candidate Training Satisfactorily. Gallops Out Mile in 1:48 in Manner Pleasing to Trainer Stewart Letellier Arrives at Louisville. LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 7 The standout Derby trial of the morning was that of J. N. Camdens Winslow, which was worked in company with Honey Locust, an Oaks candidate, which covered seven furlongs over a fast track in 1 :32, and galloped out the mile in 1:48. The pair raced on even terms to the half in :49, six furlongs in 1 :17 and, after reaching the seven furlong pole, the filly pulled up, letting the gelding ease up the remaining furlong. Trainer Danny Stewart is much encouraged with the improvement shown in Winslow. Playtime, the John Marsch Derby candidate, was breezed a slow seven furlongs in 1 :38 by trainer Cecil Howard. Charles N. Lewis, trainer of Devlin and Dinwiddie Lamptons Sam Wooldridge, breezed them together for a slow half in :2S and :57. Photo Star, the Mrs. E. Denemark Oaks filly, went six furlongs in 1 :24 and eased up seven furlongs in 1 :39 for trainer R. T. Watts. Frank P. Letellier arrived from New Origins and was busy training his big string of horses at the Downs. The thoroughbreds that he has housed at Douglas Park are Black Thunder, Oregon Fir, Disturb. Ring True, Border Chief, Ragus, Southland King, Southland Chief and the two-year-olds Sweet Matilda, Fortune, Bachelor Miss and Bachelor Lark. A. B. Letellier was given stalls at the Downs for eight horses that are due to arrive this afternoon from New Orleans. E. D. Trotter lost his three-yeai-old home bred colt Greendale, by Bunting Humanitarian, which died from pneumonia in the stable of his son, C. H. Trotter, at Churchill Downs this morning. Jockey Carl Meyer and his younger brother Freddie spent the week end in Covington, .their home, but will report back to the stable of their contract employer, Mrs. E. Dene-mark, by Tuesday morning, i
