Y., April IS. Desert Light, the chestnut son of Wildair Galaxy, which Alec Gordon is training for the Fair Stable of Mrs. Graham Fair Vanderbilt for the Preakness and Kentucky Derby, may wind up as the post favorite in the future book of the Kentucky "classic." Tom Shaw stated yesterday that Desert Light, since his arrival from Kentucky, has been accorded extensive support and he is now equal choice with High Foot, both being quoted at 8 to 1. The support for High Foot comes mainly from the West, while the East lias been supporting Desert Light. The .prices quoted by Shaw against both horses are S, 4 and 5 to 2. Buckeye Poet, the main reliance of E. R. Bradley, is another that, in the last few days, came in for extensive support. This fellow is now held at 50 to 1, a decided cut from the original price. Gold Brook, which Tom McCreary is training for the Howe Stable, is now held at 40 to 1, a decided flop from the first quotation of 100 to 1, Ned O., the Maryland representative, is quoted at 20 to 1, while Tannery is held at 30. Dedicate receded to 15 to 1, while both Flying Heels and Gallant Fox have been steady at 12 and 10, respectively. Flying Gal, the Belair Stable filly, which is being pointed for the Coaching Club American Oaks as her main objective, is another that received stout support, while Her Grace, a recent Maryland winner, was following a plunge cut from 500 to 100 to 1. , Due to the openness of the race, with Whichone and Boojum absentees, the play in probable starters in the race has exceeded that of recent years.
