STAR PLAY showed speed from the start, easily disposed of BOLD ROBIN, . crossed to the inside before being headed by LADY FIXGERS and, holding on well, returned to the lead in the final twenty yards and finished fast. LADY FIXGERS, probably best and shuffled back in the first quarter, saved ground on the turn and, racing into a clear lead after reaching the stretch, tired badly near the end. ABETH began slowly, raced wide and showed a good performance. ROLLIXG SBA improved his position gradually and closed fast. GEORGE WEBRE raced wide. BLACK COMET began fast, but lost some ground on the turn, was under severe pressure to head DEEMSTER in the stretch and, holding on gamely, lasted. The latter, quickest to begin and aided in "saving ground throughout, displayed good speed and finished resolutely in a long drive. GOOD JEST lost much ground in the opening three-eighths and tired thereafter. WEST VIRGINIA began slowly and saved ground. BOBS PLAY raced greenly. BLACK CLOUD, poorly ridden and taken back repeatedly during the opening three-eighths, displayed fine speed when allowed to settle into his stride and, saving ground, closed wifli a rush in the stretch. SELECTION raced forwardly and held 0:1 fairly well. DORITA raced evenly. MONNIE moved up fast from the start, but was done after reaching the stretch. MY LAVA, well up from the start, saved much ground and outlasted LEAH JANE. The latter worked her way into the lead after entering the stretch and tired in the closing eighth. GRANITE DUST caused some crowding in the first sixteenth, was rated along in the early lead and quit under pressure. LADY CLARENCE could not reach contention. EASTER MORN showed early speed. The latter; well up, appeared to impede CHORISTER approaching the stretch, held the lead briefly and could not withstand the winner and just lastec1. for second. HEAD PIN, probably best and crowded back on the stretch turn, closed with a rush. UPSEDAISY, taken back repeatedly and pinched back on the stretch turn, could not overtake the leaders. CHORISTER had speed, ran out entering the back stretch and was-in close quarters on the stretch turn, then quit.
