GUIDE RIGHT began quickly, was taken in hand, made a bold challenge after dropping back on the turn and came gamely when shaken up. THEO. ROCHESTER tired fast in the closing stages. MONTFERRAT. displaying his best form and kept within striking distance of the leaders, closed fast in the final drive, wore CLOUDY down in the last eighth and came away nearing the finish. TOKI, a factor from the beginning, swerved out at the stretch turn and bumped into EQUATION, but continued gamely when straightened out. CLOUDY showed good speed for five-eighths and tired when the real struggle began. EQUATION raced on his own courage early and was going strongly when he was knocked off his stride when bothered by TOKI. He was guided extremely wide thereafter and needs better handling. RED CROSS SISTER, unable to keep 1 in early contention, closed with good courage on the outside to outgame POINCIANA. The latter forced the early pace and then tired fast. SNAPPY SNUB was outrun.
