STILL IN ENGLISH "CLASSICS" LONDON, .England. Acceptances for three "classic" races, and many of the big weight-for-age events to be run during the present year, for which forfeit was declared last month, were published in a special issue of the Racing Calendar April 7. There are now ninety-four left in the Derby, seventy-five in the Oaks, and 11S in the St. Leger. There will be a third and final acceptance stage for the Derby and Oaks on Tuesday, May 27, the week before the running, and for the St. Leger on Tuesday, September 2. All the fancied horses, remain in the Derby. In addition to Challenger, Lord Dewar has accepted with Golden Dawn, The Recorder and Lovat Scout. H. H. Aga Khan has accepted with Blenheim, Rustom Pasha, Moti-wala and Ut Majeur. Forfeit has been paid for Teacup. Lord Derbys colors will be carried either by Caerleon or Knight of Lorn, as both Sala-mis and Botany Bay have been taken out. Lord Dewars Grace Dalrymple, Lord Derbys Fair Isle, and H. H. Aga Khans Querrat-al-Ain, the three best fillies of their age in training last year, have accepted for .the Oaks. Ann Gudman was rated within a pound or two of -the best of her age and as winner of four of her seven races as a juvenile, she may, if necessary, prove a reliable deputy for Qurrat-al-Ain.
