$ GALLANT KNIGHT GOES FULL DERBY ROUTE 4 $ LOUISVILLE, Ky.-, April 30. Trainer Kay Spence, of the Audley Farm Stable, elected to work Gallant Knight a mile and one-quarter this afternoon, allowing plenty of time for the track to get into proper shape for a trial after the rainfall of Tuesday night. He -was accompanied by the Le Mar Stables Derby colt. Maudlin, and Easter Stockings for the first part of the journey. Schutte was astride the brown son of Bright Knight Ethel Gray and Shropshire was on Maudlin, while Willie Kern had the mount on Easter Stockings. Gallant Knight was timed the first eighth in :12and, :24V, :36, :40. 1:02 Vs. 1:14, 1:28, mile and one-eighth in 1 :57 and the full mile and one-quarter in 2:11. The mile could not be caught by the trainers, as they were timing at an angle.
