LUCKY TOR BEATS ATHFORD SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. Epsom, England,. April 30. The myrtle green and white silks of W. M. G. Singer were carried to victory by Lucky Tor in the City and Suburban Handicap, one mile and a quarter, here today. With Gordon Richards riding, the five-year-old son of Lemberg Lighon Tor won by two lengths from William Barnetts Athford, the older brother of last years Derby winner, Trigo. Capt. Jefferson Davis Cohens Vatout was third, lapped on Athford. There were sixteen starters in the 0,000 stake. Lucky Tor went to the post at 13 to 2. Athford was 6 to 1 and Vatout 10 to 1. Among the other starters were Empire Builder, Midlothian, Arctic Light, The Sirdar, John Silver, Guy Mannering and Stalactite.
