FAIRMOUNT PARK READY COLLINSVILLE, 111., April 30. General manager Robert S. Eddy, Jr., and racing secretary Julius Reeder returned from Springfield, 111., where they went to pay the state tax for the forty-nine-day meeting, which opens May 10. "I find people in the towns adjacent to Collinsville enthusiastic over the coming meeting," said Mr. Eddy. Conditions seem good and we take their word as an encouraging sign for our meeting. We draw quite an amount of our patronage from some of these Illinois towns and they all seem boosters for the sport. We consummated the business of getting the license for the forty-nine days and are ready to open the gates right now. Everything, around the plant is. in readiness and all departments functioning smoothly. All we ask now is. a good break from the weather man."
