t PIMLICO TURF NOTES t BALTIMORE, Md., April 30. Jockey Paul McGinnis left for his home in Detroit, whereV he will remain for a few days before reporting to trainer William Bringloe at Woodbine. Several Canadians, prominent in racing circles in the Dominion, are due to arrive here Friday. Among them are Senator Bellcourt, president of the Connaught Park Jockey Club, and Thomas Gorman, secretary of that club ; also Maj. Palmer Wright, who succeeded the late W. P. Frazer as secretary of the Ontario Jackey Club. Arrangements have been made to concentrate the Mrs. J. Simpson Dean stable at Havre de Grace on May 11 and ship the entire band to Ottawa, where they will await the opening of the Connaught Park Jockey Club meeting. Jack L. Schaefer, suffering from a severe cold and fearful of the grippand, canceled his riding engagements this afternoon. J. G. Bussy and R. E. Potts have made up. a car and will ship their horses from Havre de Grace direct to Toronto. The Norvo Stable added the plater Aregal to its string when it claimed the horse from W. L. Brodie Tuesday for ,000.- Pcggs Pride, which was taken sick during the Miami meeting, has entirely recovered from his ailment and is again taking his daily exercise. This horse will be included in the lot Dr. Adams is shipping to Canada. Kenneth Dawes and C. E. Neil, both keen lovers of the thoroughbred and members of the Montreal Jockey Club, whose race course at Blue Bonnets is one of the finest in the Dominion, are coming down from Canada to witness the running of the Billy Barton Steeplechase at Pimlico Thursday. Some few years back J. P. Dawes, father of Kenneth, raced some of the best steeplechasers that ran, not only in Canada, but in the United States as well. Rose and Charlemagne will be remembered as two of the best jumpers that ever came down from Canada and both were frequent winners at Saratoga and the New York tracks; . The Hunt Club contingent will flock to Pimlico tomorrow judging from the number of reservations that have been made for luncheon parties in the club house. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bruce will be guests of honor at a luncheon to be given by the Maryland Jockey Club before the steeplechase. Among those invited to attend the dinner will be the Masters of Fox Hounds of Elkridge, Green Spring and Harford Hunts and a few personal friends of Mr. and Mrs! Bruce. They will include R. C- Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Smithwick, Mr. and Mrs. Park, Mr. and Mrs. David Mcintosh,. C. B. Reeves, S. L. Stewart, G. L. Stryker, D. S. Gittings, M,rs. Frank J. Bryan and Miss O. Reader. I
