WILL NOT REVEAL TAX CUTS Ontario Government Keeps Reductions in Daily Track Fees Secret — Dufferin Park Profitable. TORONTO, Ont., May 6.— The Ontario government declines to announce the definite amount of reduction in the daily tax of ,000 assessed each track, because there is already dissatisfaction among the various racing associations. Knowledge of what each actually receives is therefore not thought to be advisable. It is admitted by both Premier Henry and Hon. E. A. Dun-lop that tracks in the Province will benefit from ,000 to ,500 in the daily government fee, except Dufferin Park, the half mile track in Toronto, and the only one of its size in the Province which showed it was being operated at a profit. The other three Toronto tracks. Woodbine Park, Long Branch and Thorncliffe, are to receive ,000 reductions for the spring meetings, but whether this will be increased for the fall meetings depends upon how the first meetings will turn out. Hamilton is understood to be receiving the ,500 limit for both meetings. The Fort Erie and Windsor tracks are said to be receiving a ,000 daily reduction for both meetings.
