UNENCUMBERED showed good speed from the start, saved ground after an eighth and had something; left. MINTON moved up with a rush in the first eighth and, maintaining good speed throughout, was unable to get up. OUR FANCY began fast, and closed well. CAPTAIN T. showed a fair performance. THUNDER. TONE beeran slowly, lost much ground and was weakly ridden in the stretch. HIGH SOCKS was outrun. CRESCENT CITY quit. COUSIN ROGERS and TRANSMISSION raced wide on the stretch turn and the former swerved badly in the stretch. Scratched— 57474 Durango, 116; K. HOMER L., racing in his best form and a factor from the start, easily disposed of BATTLE SWEEP after half a mile and, drawing into decisive command, held ELYSIUM safe. The latter began slowly, saved ground on the turn and closed with a rush. BIRTHDAY GIFT, a contender after the first quarter, saved ground and held on well, but could not withstand ELYSIUM. BUSY MONARCH raced wide. WEIDE-LEEN beean slowly and showed a good performance. BATTLE SWEEP quit. BLACK COMET worked hi$ way up fast on the outside early, but lost ground on the turn and quit badly after three eighths. Scratched— 58243 Royal Guinea, 112.
