AURORA TURF NOTES i $ AURORA, 111., May 8. C. F. Jenkins traded Santoro to H. C. Rumage for Platoon and Northern Water. N. B. Davis purchased the horse Governor Peay. The condition of jockey K. McCray, who underwent an operation Saturday, was reported much improved. Jockey J. Longden, who was injured in a spill recently, departed for Winnipeg this morning where he will report to his contract employer, A. G. Tarn. It is expected that he will be able to return to the saddle with the opening of racing in the Canadian city. Apprentice Harry Roble departed for Kansas City, where he will report to J. Mikel, who is training the division of the stable of William Mikel and Son now at that point. Jockey L. Arnold, the stables other apprentice rider, is en route to Aurora. B. Jones arrived with the horses, the property of C. Fragis, which have been wintering near Aurora. The animals are Gold Banner, Wise Caddie and Wise Billie. Roy Selden, trainer of the Superior Stable, was among the arrivals today. Jockey A. Richard, under contract to J. B. Theall, led the riders for the first six days of the meeting with seven winners. Bill Phillips, because of his bad behavior at the post in the last race on Thursday, will not be permitted to start again until properly schooled. Apprentice B. Beckenridge, an Iowa lad, had his first mount on a recognized track when he rode Fay Hamilton in the opening race today. Ultie Vote and Ultimate Vote, both of which started yesterday, are sister and brother, being by Raffles — Smiling Voter. Nine races are listed for Saturday, with the concluding number to be given only in case one of those which have already small fields are declared off. The feature race is the Clifford R. Trimble Memorial Handicap. The haltermen have been inactive at Exposition Park this season. Not a claim has been registered to date.
