Shelley, A. E. Blanchard and i Charles F. Henry, placing judges; William H. Shelley, racing secretary; Harry Morris-sey, starter; Charles F. Henry, clerk of the scales, and A. E. Blanchard. paddock judge. While the majority of the horses intended i for racing at Washington Park are already i on the scene, large shipments will reach here from Aurora and Churchill Downs Sunday and Monday morning. The number of Kentucky horses to campaign at the i Homewood course will just about double ; that of last year. i The jockey colony will be larger than ever I before and such well known members of I the pigskin profession as E. James, E. Neal, I D. Meade, C. Corbett, W. Garner, H. Schutte, I S. ODonnell, L. McDermott, J. Smith, G. 1 Elston, R. Fischer, F. Chiavetta, R. Finnerty i and others will be here to accept mounts. ! In addition to many promising two-year- ! olds, some of which are due to make their racing debut, as well as the crack three- i year-olds coming here to fill their engagements in the Derby and other races, the ] handicap division of older stars will be strong with such as Gallant Knight, Mike ] Hall, Lady Broadcast, Pigeon Hole, Bargello i and others. Daniel E. OSullivan, resident manager of Churchill Downs, will be at the offices of 1 the Washington Park Jockey Club Monday j and during the next four weeks will assist i In the preparation for the staging of the ; American Derby. The exodus of horses from the Churchill Downs and Douglas Park tracks to Washington Park and Lincoln Fields will reach its zenith Sunday, when some sixteen to twenty cars get away for the Illinois courses. Ten cars pulled out Saturday night, and a ] dozen others are scheduled to leave Sunday I night. By Monday all but six or seven of the 1 more important Kentucky stables for racing i at Washington Park will be at the Home- 1 wood or Crate track. j
