John- son were not ordered scratched by the stew- wards yesterday. Mr. Johnson withdrew them of his own accord, and presiding stew- ard Nathanson wishes it known that no ruling has been made against Mr. Johnson or his horses. Most of the horses, aside from those that performed today, have been shipped to other tracks and only twenty-two appeared on the track for exercise gallops this morning. Practically all apprentice riders that have been performing at Exposition Park will be seen in action at Washington Park. The most notable exception is jockey H. Roble, who has changed his plans and will go to Bainbridge Park. Jockey A. Fischer, who was injured early this week, is still on the ailing list, but may return to the saddle early in the Wash- ington Park meeting.
